NZGrappler Competition

Saturday saw a team from Takapuna Submission venture out to the wild west to compete at the NZ Grappler competition held at the Te Atatu Peninsula Community Centre,

Our Team had a hugely successful day with nearly everyone taking something home.  Nick Allan fought in one of the most skilled divisions on Saturday having his first match against a Brown Belt Gareth Burke.

We were lucky enough to witness Southern Tribes head Pina Simpson receive his Black Belt as well.

Jason got gold in the Under 90 no Gi and Silver in the under 110 Gi.

Wade got Bronze in the under 90 no Gi.

Will won both his first fights in the Gi and no Gi, but lost his second Gi fight by way of armbar, tweaked his elbow enough to be out for the rest of the day.

Brendan had some big fights in the 110 kg divisions for both Gi and no Gi, unfortunately no wins, but fantastic experience.

For the record, proud of the crew and the greater Will / Machado family, excellent attitude displayed by all.
